After speaking extensively to the umpires and clarifying the rules the following has been determined.
The Softballers vs Pros Game 1 has been completed and will stand.
Game 2 between the Pros and the Softballers will resume with Atif on third base and the score being 3-1.
There had been talk that due to the storm perhaps this game should restart, as per ASA rules that is not possible what so ever.
GAme 1 of the X-Men vs SWAT game will resume in the third inning with 2 strikes and the batter Mo up at bat.
Any person who was playing in the game must bat in the same spot in the line up. Anyone who is missing bats on the bottom of the line up. So for example if you have the following situation.
First Batter
Second Batter
Third Batter (not able to make it)
Fourth Batter
So in this instance the Fourth batter moves up and is now the Third batter. Everyone moves up and all new additions will then bat in the bottom of the line up.
Let's say that you have a player who played and now you don't want that player to play. That player shows up to the game but is not playing, but played last week. That player has now been subbed out. As the SASL doesn't have a reentry rule.
About using a back up ball and a new ball. The rules that are stated by the Long Island Commissioner are the following. He has stated that Umpires are required to use the bag. Which means that if a ball is hit out of bounds, the back up ball that is in the bag shal be used. When the back up ball is hit out of bound then the original ball is to be used. When explained that no umpire works that way and that everyone allows the first ball to be used. The SASL was told that those umpires who are doing that are incorrect and that they are going to be talk to the Umpires to make sure that they are following the correct protocol. They were aware in advance that we were going to talk to them about the ball situation as the Umpires who had umpired the game had made them aware of the situation already. The league has requested that the umpire no longer ump our games and he won't be there.
